What began in 1985 with a simple ad taken out in The Deforest Times Tribune has turned into a youth wrestling program that has enabled the growth of the sport and helped raise numerous successful wrestlers.  Officially formed in 1986 the goal of Gold Medal Wrestling was to provide the local area youth with an atmosphere to show the love of the sport and to carry on the Deforest Wrestling values: PRIDE, DISCIPLINE, and RESPECT.
